The Trails at Oak Ridge
Outdoor enthusiasts love the 30+ miles of trails on the farm. Yearly motocross competitions and four-wheel drive events are held here. The trails are ideal for those on horseback, bicycle or foot. The Oak Ridge Fox Hunt Club calls this farm home.
Horse Racing at the Oak Ridge Race Track
The original horse track was built in 1909 and restored by John C. Holland, Jr. with an inaugural meet in 2001. The facility is a one-mile oval harness track, with the accompanying grass thoroughbred track and hillside steeplechase. Harness racing returns to Oak Ridge on October 10, 11, 17, 18, 2015. Gates open at 11 am and close at 6 pm. Post time is 12:30 pm on Saturdays and 1 pm on Sundays. Food and beverages are available on site. No food or drink may be brought onto site. Cost is $5 for adults. Children 12 years and younger are free. Come bet on your favorite horse and have fun with the family.
Since 2013 the Oak Ridge Farm has been home to Virginia's largest music festival, Lockn'. The track event space is an ideal location for major events due to size and spectacular views.
Oak Ridge is an active farm. Pumpkins, corn, and soybean are cropped yearly by Fitzgerald Farms. Remaining fields are used for hay.
